All jewellery pieces are handmade to order in my Cornwall studio. Some items are kept in stock but others will take time to make, so please allow 2 - 3 weeks for completion and delivery of your order.
As part of the Molten Collection these pearl drop studs offer the wearer the elegance of a pearl with a grunge edge.
The Molten collection is inspired by Kynance Cove and Coverack Beach, which are both areas of geographical marvel. Coverack is one of the few places on our planet where the boundary between Earth’s Crust and the Earth’s Mantle is exposed and beachgoers can stroll right over it. Kynance features cliffs of solidified magma and metamorphic rock that at one time existed kilometres beneath the Earth’s surface.
The drop of the earring is created using layers of molten hot silver that once cooled creates a solid shape that gives the appearance of fluidity. This fluid form is finished off with a medium sized freshwater pearl.
The earring is roughly 3.8cm long.
This item is available in 22ct gold plate (as pictured) and Solid Silver.
GOLD PLATE
Gold Plate offers the look of gold without the price tag, but it’s not infallible. Gold Plate will wear off over time.
The time it takes to wear off depends on how well you care for your jewellery.
Do not wear Gold Plate in the shower.
Do not wear Gold Plate in the ocean.
Do not wear Gold Plate to the gym (the salt in your sweat will have the same corrosive effect as sea water).
Keep Gold Plated pieces in an air tight box or jewellery box.
Sometimes the acidity of an individual’s skin will wear Gold Plate pieces quicker than other people - it’s down to your own composition.
If you treat your Gold Plate pieces well then it should last for a year. I do offer a replating service, price depending on item.
Please note that all jewellery is handmade to order and there will be slight differences between each finished piece.
